Setting Up Food Items for Your Restaurant in Poshier POS

Welcome to our blog! Today, we’ll guide you through the process of setting up food items in Poshier POS, using the example of different types of teas. This setup will help you manage your menu efficiently, especially when dealing with variants like hot and iced teas.

Price Variant

Understanding Food Item Setup

In Poshier POS, you have flexibility in how you configure your food items. For instance, you can create one item for all teas or set up multiple items for each variety. In this demo, we’ll assume that all teas are priced the same, but there are distinct price variants for hot and iced options.

Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up Teas

Step 1: Access the Menu

  • Go to the Menu and tap the "+" button to create a new food item.

Step 2: Select the Category

  • In the category selection, tap the "..." on the right and choose "Drink" from the category collection.

Step 3: Name Your Item

  • In the Name field, enter "Tea"

Step 4: Configure Price Variants

  • Since we want to create one food item for all teas with price variants for hot and iced:

    • Tap the "Use Price Variant" option.

    • In the Price Variant panel, enter the names and prices:

      • Enter "Hot" in the name field and 3.5 in the price field, then tap the "Add" button.

      • Enter "Iced" in the name field and 4 in the price field, then tap the "Add" button.

      • Tap "Apply" to save these variants.

Step 5: Add Tea Types

  • To include all available teas, tap the "..." button in the Requirements List.

  • In the Requirements panel, tap "New"

  • Enter "Tea Selection" in the Name field.

  • Add the tea types one by one:

    • Enter "Jasmine" and tap "Add"

    • Repeat for "English Breakfast" "Green Tea" and "Oolong"

  • Set the Selection type to Single.

Step 6: Save Your Requirements

  • Tap "Save" to finish and return to the previous screen.

  • In the Requirements panel, you will see the newly created "Tea Selection

" Tap it to link it to your food item.

Step 7: Optional Photo Selection

  • Optionally, you can pick a photo for this food item to enhance its presentation on the menu.

Step 8: Finalize Your Item

  • Finally, tap "Save" to complete the setup of your tea item.

Summary

By using price variants and requirement items, you can keep your menu organized without creating separate food items for each tea type. This approach makes it easier for staff and customers alike.

Placing an Order

Now that your tea item is set up, head over to Takeaway. Tap the newly created tea item from the menu. A Tea panel will be presented where you can select the price variant (either iced or hot) and choose a tea from the Tea Selection. Once you’ve made your selections, tap "Save" to add it to the order.

With these steps, you’ll have a well-organized and efficient menu for your restaurant using Poshier POS. Happy selling!
